Lauren brings a unique background to the team, being a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida as well as a Licensed professional Counselor in the State of New Jersey. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Fordham University. From there, she continued her education at Hodges University in Naples, FL where she obtained her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health. During her practicum, Lauren gained experience working with children and adolescence, with a focus on social emotional learning. Post graduation, she transitioned to serving young adults and families where she specialized in treating severe and persistent mental illness, including: mood disorders, anxiety, depression, ADHD, personality disorders, eating disorders and substance abuse disorders. Lauren provided these treatments across multiple settings: intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, and day treatment.
Over the past 7 years, Lauren has cultivated a passion towards working with teens, adults and families. She has experience working with these individuals through individual sessions, couples and family therapy, as well as group therapy. Lauren believes in taking an integrative approach to your wellbeing, focusing on your emotional, cognitive, and behavioral health as parts of the whole self. Focusing on teaching clients how to connect their thoughts, emotions and behaviors, Lauren creates an atmosphere that promotes an understanding around why things are happening around them, and the way that they are. Through psycho-education, cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy she helps build a foundation for her clients to utilize health coping skills and positively communicate their thoughts and feelings effectively.
Her goal for her clients is to help them reach their fullest potential so they can live their best life. Through mindfulness, self-care, effective communication and a shift towards healthier thinking styles, Lauren focuses on helping her clients develop the right skills to foster personal growth and development, as well as helping families build stronger, healthier relationships with one another.
