Heather is empathic, patient, and understanding, and provides evidence-based coping skills and strategies to children and families to assist in managing these challenges.
Heather utilizes a family systems approach in her practice, concentrating on a healthy family dynamic as an important part of the overall success of a child’s health and well-being. Heather believes it is important to consider all areas of a child’s development and functioning, including but not limited to social, emotional, behavioral, environmental, and educational factors, in order to understand and support the child as a whole. In addition to her work at Behaved Brain Wellness Center, Heather is a School Social Worker in a K-12 public school. Her knowledge of special education processes and the overall school system benefits families in need of these services and/or general school support and resources.
Heather believes it is important to create and maintain a trusting therapeutic relationship with the child and family. Heather believes that structure, consistency, and positive habits all contribute to a happy and healthy lifestyle, and she promotes these values during her sessions. Heather will work with all individuals involved in a child’s support system to ensure all needs are met.
