Rachel has earned a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling of Mental Health from William Paterson University. She provides individual and family counseling, with familiarity in Applied Behavioral Analysis, teaching social and life skills, and implementation of a rewards system. Rachel is driven, passionate professional, committed to assisting children, adolescents, and families in overcoming their challenges and difficulties in order to reach their full potential.

Biography

Rachel is a Licensed Associate Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor with a strong passion for helping children, adolescents and families overcome the challenges of daily life as well as improve their mental health. Rachel has a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree in Psychology with a minor in Communication Disorders as well as a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling of Mental Health from William Paterson University.

Rachel has many years of experience working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities as well as those experiencing anxiety or depression, and those who have difficulty with focus, attention, and impulse control. In addition, she also has experience working in both school and home settings with children and adolescents on the autism spectrum.  

Rachel’s focus is to provide a warm supportive environment for children, adolescents, and families in order to assist families to meet their needs. She provides both individual and family counseling, with expertise in Applied Behavioral Analysis, teaching social and life skills, and implementation of a rewards system. Rachel also utilizes a Cognitive Behavioral therapy approach with incorporation of Play Therapy and an integrative style based on the goals of the individual/family.

Rachel believes in building a strong therapeutic rapport with children, adolescents, and families for successful outcomes with counseling. Her passion is to understand the reason for the presenting issue and work with the entire family to help the individual reach their full potential. She believes in the importance/effectiveness of implementing evidence-based approaches as well as increasing her skill set by attending continuing education training opportunities. Rachel is driven, passionate professional, committed to assisting children, adolescents, and families in overcoming their challenges and difficulties in order to reach their full potential.

Credentials

Rachel has a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree in Psychology with a minor in Communication Disorders as well as a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling of Mental Health from William Paterson University.  Rachel is a Licensed Associate Counselor in the State of New Jersey and is a Nationally Certified Counselor.
