In addition to being a Psychologist at Behaved Brain, Dr. Jen is a School Psychologist in a public-school system and brings her skills and knowledge from that setting to her clinical work at Behaved Brain.

Biography

Dr. Jen is a Licensed Psychologist in the State of New Jersey. She specializes in working with children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional challenges. She also works with adults and couples who are in the need of support. Dr. Jen believes that it is important to gain insight on all aspects of the individual’s  environment in order to gain full understanding of the whole person. 

Dr.  Jen is also a Nationally Certified School Psychologist with a decade of experience working in the public school setting. This allows her to bring her extensive school knowledge to the clinical setting. Dr. Jen brings her skills and knowledge from working in the school system to her clinical work. Dr. Jen has experience conducting psycho-educational evaluations that help identify one’s strengths and weaknesses to provide the best support in the academic setting. 

As a successful psychologist, Dr. Jen first builds rapport with her clients and their families to truly gain their acceptance, trust, and respect. Dr. Jen utilizes an individualized approach to meet the needs of the individual that she is working with. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy while incorporating evidence based treatments and interventions. Dr. Jen is passionate about living a happy, healthy, and active lifestyle. These beliefs are reflected in her sessions as mindfulness techniques are incorporated to help clients become more aware of the present. 

Credentials

Dr. Jen graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Applied Developmental Psychology. She then earned her Master’s Degree in Child Psychology at Duquesne University. Dr. Jen continued her education at Duquesne University and earned a Doctoral Degree in School Psychology.
