Communicating With Your Therapist

It is very important to find a treatment provider you trust.  You will be spending a lot of time speaking and brainstorming with this therapist, and the connection and trust you experience is vital component in your child’s therapy.

Make sure your therapist is willing to include you in your child’s treatment. Whether they include through monthly sessions, updates via phone or email, or process session weekly with you, it is important you know what was discussed.  Therapists spend a limited amount of time with your child, it is your job to know what is discussed and ways to carry therapy over to their daily life.  Your therapist will give you suggestions and help you implement strategies to adjust your child’s environment and increase their success with therapy.

Let me know how you’re doing. Contact me for a family consultation.
