Behaved Brain Wellness Center
About Us
At Behaved Brain Wellness Center, our integrative, evidence-based approach to every child and family therapy counseling session helps to address real issues the family is facing while offering actionable solutions to reach achievable goals for the individual. We strive to continually educate ourselves on innovative research, and implement effective, holistic healthcare strategies regarding behavioral therapy for our clients, educating the families we serve to help everyone along the way.
When you work with Behaved Brain Wellness Center, you will be assigned a therapist that is the right fit for you during your consultation call. Each one of our family therapy team members are supportive, passionate and kind. Each 45-minute session will focus on setting goals and outlining treatment plans that were discussed as a team to ensure we are working together to optimize treatment success. We utilize a number of at-home visual systems, behavior tracking tools, and emotion support strategies to help carry over at home what is discussed in each session.
The Behaved Brain Advantage
What Makes Us Different?
For many parents, making healthy choices for their family is among their top priorities. But it can be challenging to know what is and isn’t truly beneficial for your mental and physical health. From the foods we eat, to the products we use around our home, there are so many ways we can improve our health, if we’re enabled and informed to make the right choices. The Behaved Brain team works with our clients to dig deep into each family’s patterns to help develop a roadmap for accessing healthier overall lifestyle choices.
The science continues to support the evidence that our environment does in fact impact our physical and mental health. Increases in behavioral disorders, declining mental health, and even soaring suicide rates have been attributed to poor food quality, overexposure to chemicals, and lack of access to mental health counseling – just to name a few. But what all of these characteristics have in common is that they are modifiable and avoidable.
Our family therapy team assists our clients in navigating this often information-heavy environment, helping everyone take small steps that turn into big transformations. We are constantly researching groundbreaking evidence and information surrounding advances in mental health when it comes to food, products, and breakthroughs in therapeutic counseling. Together, this symbiotic approach to improving physical and mental health is helping change the lives of our clients and their families.

About Behaved Brain
Do you take health insurance?
If a client has a health insurance policy, it may provide some coverage for mental health treatment. The client (not the insurance company) is responsible for full payment of all professional fees. It is very important that the client finds out exactly what mental health services their insurance policy covers.
Once Behaved Brain has all of the information about insurance coverage, the client and therapist can discuss what to expect to accomplish with the benefits that are available, and what will happen if the benefits end before the client feels ready to end sessions. It is important to remember that a client always has the right to pay for services to avoid the problems described above unless prohibited by contract.
Does Behaved Brain treat children, adults, individuals or families?
Behaved Brain Wellness Center specializes in treating ALL members of the family! We can treat both families and individuals, in a group setting or one-on-one. However, we can also treat individuals without treating the whole family. Our family therapy background means that our approach is intended to help the individual, even if the family is not enrolled in therapeutic programming. Our individualized approach also means we can treat a wide-range of issues that affect children and adults uniquely.
Where is Behaved Brain located?
Behaved Brain Wellness Center has two on-site office locations in northern New Jersey. You can visit our legacy location in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ or our newest office in Midland Park, NJ. Both are centrally located in Bergen County, New Jersey. However, we do offer virtual family therapy and counseling so that we’re able to take on clients of any geographical location.
